Lophophora
Lophophora ist eine Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Kakteengewächse (Cactaceae). Der botanische Name der Gattung leitet sich von den griechischen Worten λόφος (lophos) für ‚Haarschopf‘ und φόρά (phora) für ‚(das) Tragen‘ ab. Er verweist auf die Wollbüschel tragenden Areolen der Pflanzen.
