Louis Braille [] (* 4. Januar 1809 in Coupvray, Île-de-France; † 6. Januar 1852 in Paris) war ein französischer Blindenlehrer, ein Pionier der Blindenbetreuung und Erfinder des nach ihm benannten Punktschriftsystems für Blinde, der Brailleschrift oder kurz Braille.
