Magistrat (Deutschland)

Der Magistrat (lateinisch magistratus ‚Behörde‘) ist in Deutschland ein Kollegialorgan an der Spitze der Verwaltung einer Stadt mit Magistratsverfassung; in einer Gemeinde ohne Stadtrechte nennt sich dieses Organ Gemeindevorstand.
