Mahabharata
Das Mahabharata (Sanskrit महाभारत Mahābhārata [] „die große Geschichte der Bharatas“) ist das bekannteste indische Epos. Man nimmt an, dass es erstmals zwischen 400 v. Chr. und 400 n. Chr. niedergeschrieben wurde, aber auf älteren Traditionen beruht. Es umfasst etwa 100.000 Doppelverse.
