Der Berg ist von tropischem Regenwald bedeckt und bildet das Zentrum des seit 1979 mit 3045 ha größten Nationalparks des Landes, des Morne-Seychellois-Nationalparks.
Die Hauptstadt Victoria liegt etwa zwei Kilometer nordöstlich.
