Protacanthopterygii
Die Protacanthopterygii sind eine der vier Unterkohorten der Euteleosteomorpha innerhalb der Echten Knochenfische (Teleostei). Der Name bedeutet „vor den Stachelflossern (Acanthopterygii)“. Protacanthopterygii leben sowohl im Meer als auch im Süßwasser, meist auf der nördlichen Erdhalbkugel.
