Rakshasa

Die Rakshasas (Sanskrit राक्षस rākṣasa; Pali: rakkhasa m. »Beschädiger«) sind Dämonen aus der indischen Mythologie. Die weibliche Form sind Rakshasis (Pali: rakkhasī f.). Mit der Verbreitung des Buddhismus haben sie Eingang in die Legenden und Folklore vieler ostasiatischer Kulturen gefunden.
