Wirbelringzustand

Als Wirbelringzustand oder Vortex-Ring-Zustand (englisch vortex ring state) bezeichnet man einen gefährlichen Zustand eines Hubschraubers im Schwebeflug oder bei geringer horizontaler Geschwindigkeit, in dem dieser im vom eigenen Hauptrotor erzeugten Abwind (Downwash) sinkt.
