Tell (Archäologie)

In der Archäologie bezeichnet das arabische Wort Tell (beziehungsweise Tel, arabisch تل, DMG Tall ‚Hügel‘, gemeint: Siedlungshügel) eine Erhebung, die durch wiederholte Besiedlung entstand, wie die Zitadelle von Aleppo in Syrien oder die Zitadelle von Erbil in der autonomen Region Kurdistan.
