Sphinx (griechisch)

Die Sphinx (altgriechisch Σφίγξ Sphínx, deutsch ‚Würgerin‘) oder Phix (Φίξ Phíx) der griechischen Mythologie war die Tochter der Ungeheuer Typhon und Echidna und somit Schwester von Hydra, Chimära, Kerberos und Orthos. Sie galt als Dämon der Zerstörung und des Unheils.
