Der Start bzw. die Startfreigabe eines Motorsportwettkampfes auf einer Rundstrecke kann grundsätzlich stehend oder rollend erfolgen. Sonderformen sind der sogenannte Le-Mans-Start und auch der Safety-Car-Start.
