Syzygium (Gattung)
Syzygium ist eine Pflanzengattung in der Familie der Myrtengewächse (Myrtaceae). Die etwa 1200 Arten sind in der Paläotropis weitverbreitet. Die in Mitteleuropa bekannteste Art ist der Gewürznelkenbaum (Syzygium aromaticum). Aber auch andere Arten werden genutzt, zum Beispiel die Früchte des Javaapfels (Syzygium samarangense).
