Thomas Wolsey

Thomas Wolsey [ˈwʊlzi] (* um 1475 in Ipswich; † 28. November 1530 in Leicester) war ein englischer Staatsmann, römisch-katholischer Erzbischof von York und Kardinal. Er bekleidete das Amt des englischen Lordkanzlers und stieg für viele Jahre zum mächtigsten Mann Englands auf.
