Der Westliche Schlammtaucher (Pelodytes punctatus) ist ein westeuropäisch verbreiteter, zierlicher Froschlurch und bildet eine von fünf Arten der Gattung Schlammtaucher (Pelodytes). Aus dieser wiederum besteht ausschließlich die Familie Pelodytidae.
