Mastigamoeba balamuthi (früher auch Phreatamoeba balamuthi, einschl. Amoeba sp. ATCC 30984) ist eine Spezies (Art) der Gattung Mastigamoeba.
Die Organismen von Mastigamoeba balamuthi sind freilebende amöboide, aber begeißelte Einzeller (Amöboflagellaten). Sie sind die vermutlich am besten untersuchte Spezies der Gattung Mastigamoeba, da sie als Modellorganismus für Studien und Forschungen über amitochondriale (Mitochondrien-freie) Organismen dient.
