Don't choose to open the file, save it and copy to your user home directory. See the answer. And which file did you download? – Pilot6 May 09 '20 at 12:00

Download a
amd64debprinter driver from https://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/?OSC=LXCopy it to your user home directory.
Run in a terminal
sudo apt install ./epson*.debGo to Settings -> Printers and add a new printer.

It worked until step 4. When i go to Settings -> Printers and click Add it never finds my printer even though the printer is connected to the wifi network – jsstuball Mar 29 '22 at 12:42

I actually tried to edit the comment straight after to say it worked. – jsstuball Mar 30 '22 at 18:20

I have an Epson ET2710 Eco Tank printer. I just installed Synaptic, and installed every package with "epson" in its package name. Afterward the scanner and printer work fine. I've had no problems at all. That was my solution.

This doesn't really answer the original poster's question, and you haven't given any detail for how you did what you did. Would be good to edit your answer with a lot more detail. – Will Oct 21 '21 at 10:35
