I am trying to install Ubuntu on my HP 8th gen core i3, it said to turn off rst so I did. it says it doesn’t have it on in the bios for the main drive, so I boot up Ubuntu again and it tells me to turn off rst. I am not trying to dual boot or anything I just want a Ubuntu main installation. I have looked everywhere in bios for something I’ve missed and it’s frustrating. Can someone help please?

1Did you Save your Settings after you turned off RST? Btw, "BIOS" settings are kept in a chip, available to the CPU, and are not a "per disk" thing. BIOS (part of POST, Power On Self Test) is executed before disks are identified. – waltinator Mar 22 '25 at 23:48
