scons - checking for libxml++-3. No. checking for libxml++-2.6. No. How to solve?

I'm trying to build and install a package with scons on Xubuntu 22.04.

During the build, it's checking for these two dependencies. I can't seem to solve this issue.

Is there a good way to install these missing dependencies?

Use `dpkg -S libxml++`` to see which packages provide it. – waltinator Mar 25 '25 at 17:06

These things are usually resolved by installing the corresponding development (-dev) package - likely libxml++2.6-dev in this case – steeldriver Mar 25 '25 at 17:34

@waltinator dpkg only knows about installed packages. It can't find providers of uninstalled stuff! Please read the section about -S in the man page. – vidarlo Mar 25 '25 at 17:56
