I prepared an USB stick with Ubuntu 25.04 using Balena Etcher. Restarted my MacBook and chose to install from the USB. Chose option " Try or install Ubuntu" from the menu appearing on screen. Screen goes blank and nothing more happens. Mac still running but screen is blank. What have I missed? Regards Georg

How much RAM. My old PC would not boot new Ubuntu, but would boot server & Kubuntu. You may need a lighter weight flavor. https://ubuntu.com/download/flavours Are you booting installer in UEFI boot mode? Did you create installer in UEFI mode, or both, not old BIOS boot mode? 2I saw that there are many issues regarding installation of 25.04, so I went for 24.04 instead. That install went smooth. – Georg Lukjanov Apr 24 '25 at 15:15

There seems to be a problem booting 25.04 on all macs (macbooks, imacs and minis). Using older kernels with this release works. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1546074/kernel-problem-cant-install-25-04-onto-macs – Guy Apr 27 '25 at 14:58
