My background includes biology, theoretical ecology, herpetology, and computer science. I currently work as a researcher and computer scientist for a large government contractor. Prior positions include data scientist at Bank of America; data scientist at Xpansiv (commodities trading); and lead machine-learning engineer for Silent Falcon UAS. Before working in tech I was a research scientist in forestry at the University of Toronto and did research in ecological modeling at the EEB Dept of the Univ. of TN, Knoxville. I've taught Biological Statistics at several universities in the US and Canada.
In my profile photo, I am holding a green anaconda, which I had just caught while visiting the Llanos of Venezuela, as part of a class on Tropical Ecology, taught jointly by Cal Poly Pomona and the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
