I work as a senior Java developer at an Investment Bank, working on physical commodities trading software. I hold a PhD in Computer Science from the University of South Africa (UNISA). I spent few years early in my career in academia, working at a scientific research council as a senior technologist/engineer developing mainly in Java and Javascript (NodeJS), I am also supervising and mentoring a number Masters Students at the science council. I was a part-time university lecturer for a Digital Process Control course module.

I used to be an organizer for Google Developer Group (GDG) in Pretoria, the group focused on Android development. I am a livestock "weekend" farmer (cattle and goats).
