Einleitung

This guide will teach those who wish to replace the keypad of their Dell Adamo 13 with a new one.

Generally the only real issue that may require the repair or replacement of a keypad is characters that are entered not appearing on screen, essentially if your inputs aren’t being registered then it’s time to do something about it.

Before starting users should look towards our battery and circuit board guides as those are necessary to know before removing the keypad.

    • There is no external access to the battery. Please make sure the at the battery has been drained or disabled through BIOS before beginning.

    • Flip the device over.

    • Remove the bottom cover by unsnapping the clips around the edge of the computer.

    • You may hear a slight pop when you pull the cover off.

    • Disconnect orange film wire harness from the slot it is connected to.

    • The bottom cover and battery are one piece and will be replaced as a unit.

    • Remove the battery from the device.

    • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove six 2 mm screws securing the fan and motherboard to the device.

    • Remove all the connections to the circuit board on top and underneath.

    • Use caution when removing connections to prevent damage.

    • Remove the motherboard from the device.

    • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove eight 2 mm screws securing the keypad to the device.

    • Gently lift the keypad out of the laptop mainframe.
