Use this guide to replace or clean the fan within your Dell Inspiron 15 5584 laptop.

The fan is a piece of hardware that serves to draw in cool air while expelling hot air from within the device. A faulty or dirty fan will have decreased airflow, not pulling in cool air, resulting in overheating and eventually, device failure. Furthermore, dirty fans can generate harsh noises as they need more power to run as efficiently as if they were clean.

Ensure your device is drained of charge and is shut off before tampering. Working with an active motherboard or a charged battery is a fire hazard and can result in personal injury/component damage. Furthermore, working with running fans can lead them to break and may cause injury.
