Einleitung

Replacing the bacterial filter in HAMILTON-C1 assures non-contamination in ventilator’s inspiratory and expiratory gas paths. Keep in mind that all bacterial filters are single patient-use only!     • Orient Hamilton-C1 so the right side of the device is facing you.

    • Disconnect HME (heat and moisture exchanger) and flex tube

    • Bacterial filter is held within the HME.

    • Use both hands to gently pull and/or twist the flex tube and HME away from one another until fully disconnected.

    • The HME should still be connected to the overall circuit setup.

    • In reassembly, a new HME with a non-contaminated bacterial filter will be reconnected to the flex tube for this step.

    • Disconnect HME and circuit setup

    • Use both hands to gently pull and/or twist the flow sensor and HME away from one another until fully disconnected.

    • The HME (with used/contaminated bacterial filter) should now be completely disconnected from all parts.

    • In reassembly, a new HME with a non-contaminated bacterial filter will be reconnected to the flow sensor for this step.
