The Braun EP100—also known as the Braun Exact Power EP100—is an electric beard/mustache trimmer released in 1999 (according to the service manual). It is used to shape the edges of a beard or keep all the hair at the same length. It has a blue and silver plastic shell and a translucent guard that fits over the shaving element. On one side of the handle it has a blue on/off switch along with another switch which lets you choose between a lower and higher motor speed. Along the other side of the device, a wider switch pushes the entire shaving apparatus up and down in the chassis. Like the grass length selector on a lawn mower, you can use this switch to cut your hair to a specific consistent height.

The Braun EP100 can run on the power in an internal battery or when it is plugged in and recharging. You can take care of the trimmer by cleaning hair from the blades and lubricating the motor periodically. You can find disassembly instructions for the device in the EP100 service manual. Once it is open, you can replace a dead battery with a 1.2 volt replacement from online (although this procedure may require soldering).

You can identify this trimmer by looking on the case for the model number “EP100” or “5601.” This second number is referenced in the service manual. The trimmer also has the words “Braun” and “Exact Power” written on the outside.
