Rubber Grips
Background and Identification
On August 23rd, 2007, Nikon Corporation unveiled the Nikon D300, a semi-professional digital single-lens reflex camera. It has 12.3 megapixels and comes in a DX format, an alternate name for APS-C image sensor format used by Nikon. The D300 succeeds the D200 as Nikon’s DX format flagship DSLR. However, it was later discontinued by Nikon in 2009 and was replaced by the modified D300s.
Designed by Nikon to be the ultimate in DX format performance, the D300 is very similar to the D700. The main difference between them is the use of a DX sensor in the D300 and an FX sensor in the D700. The D300 offers users with both high resolution and high speed—capable of capturing 6 frames per second. Moreover, with the addition of an optional MB_D10 battery pack, the D300 can capture 8 frames per second.
In addition to having a built-in autofocus meter for all Nikon autofocus-lenses, the D300 includes CPU and metering for older Nikon F-mount AI/AI-S lenses and the new generation perspective control lenses.
