Background and Identification

The Røde NTG2 is an 11-inch condenser shotgun microphone by Røde. This model is designed for professional applications within the film, video, television, and production industries. The microphone is unidirectional with a super-cardioid polar pattern. It has an output impedance of 250 ohms. It is powered either by one AA battery or by P48 phantom power that can be supplied by professional cameras, audio recorders, and power supplies.

The Røde NTG2’s full frequency response, low noise, and audio transparency make this microphone ideal for film, video, and voice-over microphone. The microphone features a native 20 HZ - 20 kHz frequency response with a selectable high-pass filter at 80 HZ. The filter prevents low-end noise such as air conditioners and traffic from being recorded. The microphone includes a foam WSVM windshield to minimize light wind noise and plosives during recording. An optional ‘DeadCat’ furry is available for outdoor applications.

The Røde NTG2 shotgun microphone is designed and produced in Australia. It is sold with a 10-year warranty, a durable microphone clip (RM5), a padded zip pouch (ZP2), and a pop-filter/wind-shield (WSVM). The microphone clip si designed for easy placement on a microphone stand or a boom pole. The microphone is made with a high-grade aluminum housing finished in hard-wearing epoxy paint.
