Major Facts
- This model is a flagship smart phone for Sony. It has a robust design, a very fast processor, and most notably a high quality camera with immense camera features.
- This was the most impressive smartphone Sony had released at the time, but the display was thought to be inferior to many other smartphones. Although the display was large for its time and had a full HD resolution, its downfall was the lack of IPS technology. This resulted in less than desirable visuals.
Device Recalls
- The Sony Xperia Z1s was often advertised as waterproof, as was many other Sony Z models. A class action lawsuit was issued against Sony for 24 models of phones including the Xperia Z1s. They reached a settlement that states that if you experienced issues with the water-proofing rating of your phone you are entitled to the following:
- Warranty extension for up to a year if the device is within warranty period.
- Warranty extension for up to 6 months if the device is no longer under warranty.
- Up to 50% of MSRP as refund for compensation if the device is listed among the ones on the Sony lawsuit.
