Background and Identification

The Synology DiskStation DS1019++ is a five-bay Network-Attached Storage device. A Network-Attached Storage device is a file-level (as opposed to block-level storage) computer data storage server that is connected to a computer network. The device provides data access to a group of clients and is specialized for serving files either by its hardware, software, or configuration. NAS systems are often produced as computer appliances produced with specialized purposes. Network-attached storage systems remove the responsibility of file serving from other servers on the network.

The Synology DiskStation DS1019+ includes the name “Synology” on the side of its rectangular body.
