Troubleshooting
Common questions regarding the Instant Pot Smart-60 are answered here.
Background and Identification
The Instant Pot Smart-60 was released in December of 2014 and was the first Bluetooth-enabled pressure cooker released by Instant Pot. The Smart-60 is distinguished from other Instant Pot products by the word “Smart” printed in red lettering on the device’s control screen. The “60” in "Instant Pot Smart-60" refers to the quart size of the model. The "Instant Pot Smart-60" holds up to 6 quarts while the "Instant Pot Smart-50," for instance, only holds 5 quarts.
In July of 2015, Instant Pot recalled around 4,000 Smart-60 devices manufactured between December 1, 2014, and June 1, 2015, due to a manufacturing error that made devices prone to electric shock. However, all Smart-60 devices manufactured before and after these dates have no such risk and are fine to use.
