Troubleshooting
Xbox freezes mid-game
The most common problem with the Xbox is mid-game freezing. This is usually a sign of overheating. Before attempting hardware replacement, make sure your Xbox is in a well ventilated area, and that its vents are not covered. Turn off the device and allow it to cool, then try to play normally. If the problem persists, try dusting the heat sinks and logic board. If none of this works, the solder joints on the logic board may be severely damaged from excessive and recurring overheating. If this is the case, the logic board may still be salvageable if you are a crafty solderer, otherwise, you will need to replace it.
