Aljaksandr Fjodarawitsch Litwinouski (belarussisch Аляксандр Фёдаравіч Літвіноўскі; * 1. Mai 1962 in Minsk, Belarussische SSR) ist ein belarussischer Komponist zeitgenössischer klassischer Musik. Seine Werke sind von der Musik Igor Strawinskys, aber auch von Barock, Klassik und Romantik beeinflusst und reichen daher von Tradition bis Avantgarde gleichermaßen.

Leben und Wirken

Litwinouski studierte an der Belarussischen Staatlichen Musikakademie und schloss 1982 mit Diplom in Musikwissenschaft und 1991 in Komposition bei Dmitri Smolski ab. In den 1990er Jahren war Litwinouski Mitglied der Belarussischen Komponistenvereinigung. Von 1993 bis 2001 nahm er an internationalen Kursen für Komposition bei Krzysztof Penderecki, Michael Nyman, Louis Andriessen, Fransois-Bernard Mâche, Daryl Runswick, Sylvano Bussotti, Sigune von Osten, Jonathan Harvey, Tristan Murail, Martin Matalon, Matthias Hermann und Marek Choloniewski teil. 2004 wurde er in die American Society of Composers und 2005 in der Internationalen Konföderation Elektroakustischer Musik (IME) aufgenommen. Sein Œuvre zeichnet sich durch eine kreative Schaffenskraft aus und umfasst Kammermusik, Konzerte sowie Solostücke. Litwinouski nimmt sich auch schweren Themen an, so beispielsweise der Streichersuite mit seinem Titel Le Grand Cashier, die er 2015 zunächst als Bühnenmusik konzipierte. Sie basiert auf dem gleichnamigen Roman (dt. Das große Heft) von Ágota Kristóf und erzählt von Kriegserfahrungen von Zwillingsbrüdern.
