Giambattista Vico

Giambattista Vico (auch Gian Battista, Giovan Battista; * 23. Juni 1668 in Neapel; † 23. Januar 1744 ebenda) war ein italienischer Geschichts- und Rechtsphilosoph, der sich mit Aufstieg und Niedergang von Zivilisationen befasste. Vico gilt als der Begründer der Völkerpsychologie und der neuzeitlichen spekulativen Geschichtsphilosophie.
