Kerbela
Kerbela oder Kerbala (arabisch كربلاء Karbala, DMG Karbalāʾ) ist eine Stadt im Zentrum des Irak mit etwa 711.530 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Juli 2018). Sie liegt in der gleichnamigen Provinz nahe dem Euphrat (al-Furāt), circa 80 km südlich von Bagdad.
