Die Lepidopterologie oder Schmetterlingskunde (altgriechisch λεπίς lepís (Genitiv lepídos) ‚Schuppe‘ und altgriechisch πτερόν pterón, deutsch ‚Flügel‘ und -logie) ist ein Teilgebiet der Entomologie (Insektenkunde) und damit der Zoologie. Sie befasst sich mit der Erforschung von Schmetterlingen.
