Victor Hugo
Victor-Marie Vicomte Hugo (* 26. Februar 1802 in Besançon; † 22. Mai 1885 in Paris) war ein französischer Schriftsteller und Politiker.
Er verfasste Gedichte sowie Romane und Dramen und betätigte sich als literarischer, aber auch politischer Publizist. Mehrfach war er als Angehöriger der Pairskammer Abgeordneter oder Senator und damit direkt politisch aktiv. Neben Molière, Voltaire oder Balzac gilt er vielen Franzosen als ihr größter Autor. Sein Schaffen kann teils der Romantik, teils dem Realismus zugeordnet werden.
