Update:
I got Wi-Fi working through this guide:
https://wiki.t2linux.org/guides/postinstall/.
I'll continue with this.
Original Post:
I have successfully installed Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS on my 2018 Mac Mini.
Much Thanks to David on guiding me on this.
I am currently using it using an external keyboard and mouse via Logitech USB dongle.
I am aware that since this is a T2 Mac, getting all the internal hardware on it to work correctly is a bit tricky.
So, before I proceed further with my server setup, I want to make sure that all the driver stuffs are sorted out.
- How can I check the status of T2-controlled devices (usb, thunderbolt, bluetooth, audio, Wi-Fi, fans, graphics, etc.)?
- What is the correct process to install the missing T2-specific drivers and kernel?
My goal is to get to a fully functional system where all the Mac's hardware works as best as possible with Linux.
Edit:
sudo journalctl -b 0. Type yourloginpassword if prompted. Watch it assign drivers to hardware. If any one of your list isn't working [ask] about it. Linux isn't DOS, driver hunts are a Thing of The Past. – waltinator Jun 26 '25 at 00:05
