The Dell Inspiron 1721 was released in 2007. The identification plate is located on the bottom of the device. With a display that is 17” and a battery life of up to six hours, the Inspiron 1721 was designed to be a replacement for desktop computers the form of a laptop. With three USB 2.0 port and a DVD drive the Inspiron 1721 is capable of reading and transferring data from many different platforms. It also has a screen with a resolution of 1440 pixels and a full keyboard including a full number pad. The Inspiron 1721 features a left -centered track-pad, with both left and right click functionality. These features make it a useful tool for business or for school.

The Dell Inspiron 1721 has been a favorable computer for many users since its release but is out classed by newer models such as the newer release; the 2018 Dell Inspiron 15.6" FHD IPS.
