Background and Identification

While the physical appearance is very similar to other Roombas, the iRobot Roomba 690 can be identified from other 600 series Roombas with its ability to connect to Wi-Fi and operation using an app. The 690 incorporates a 3-stage cleaning system and dirt detection sensors. This model of Roomba was first released in 2017 to replace the iRobot Roomba 650 which didn't have the Wi-Fi feature. It is still for sale on as it is considered one of iRobot's flagship models. A replacement for the Roomba 690 is the 675, which has all the features of the 690 excluding the virtual wall barrier, which allows the user more control over where it cleans. This decreases the overall price of the 675. The device number can be found by removing the bin and flipping the Roomba upside down to see the underside. It is currently sold for about $350.00. This is one of the more affordable models, as higher end units sold by iRobot can cost up to three times as much.
