Background and Information
The Motorola Moto Z is Motorola's flagship model for 2016. It was released as a Verizon carrier exclusive on June 9th, and was later joined by the Moto Z Force and the Moto Z Play. The Moto Z is known to be the thinnest mainstream smartphone ever, at only 5.2mm (or 0.2in) wide. The other editions of this phone, the Force and Play, are both wider than the original Moto Z.
The Moto Z has a USB-C connector, and no 3.5mm headphone jack. This phone has an aluminum body, the first phone from Motorola to do so. An important feature of the phone is a small strip near the bottom of the phone, on the backside. This portion will allow for the "Moto Mods" to be placed on the phone, which will enhance the user's experience with speakers, chargers and other add-ons.
The most distinctive traits of this phone is the width of the phone, and that copper strip on the lower backside. If you are not sure if this is your phone, double check for those two features.
