Background and Identification
Unveiled in August 2016, the Motorola Moto Z Play is slated as the successor to the Motorola Moto X. The Z Play is easily distinguishable from the Moto X by its update to a USB-C magnetic connector and its long battery life that can last as long as four days under “mild use.” Additionally, the back of the device has “pogo pins” that “Moto Mods” can be attached to that can further expand functionality.
The Moto Z Play can be identified by the word “moto” at the top and a square home button at the bottom of the front of the phone. It has a 5.5” touchscreen display and a front and rear camera. The rear camera has the word “droid” written directly below it. To the right of the charging port on the bottom of the device is a headphone jack. There is a power button on the right side of the device, above which are the volume up and volume down buttons.
The Moto Z Play was succeeded by the Moto Z2 Play in July 2017.
