Background and Identification
The Dell Latitude is a laptop that was released in 2018 and is known for its long battery life and fast performance due to its Intel 8th Gen Core i7 CPU. In addition, it has a matte touchscreen display and a widescreen HD 2.25 webcam for your convenience.
Most laptops are designed to have all of the functionality of a desktop computer, (so they can generally run the same software and open the same types of files) but with more mobility. However, laptops also tend to be more expensive than desktop computers because of this.
Dell no longer sells this model of laptop because they have released modernized, updated versions(7300, 7400, etc.). However, many are still circulating and being bought through websites like Ebay.com.
How do I find out what my laptop is?
- First, look around the outside of the laptop for any regalia of the company that made the laptop. You may have to open the laptop up so the screen and keyboard are visible. This laptop will have a circular Dell logo on the “top” of the laptop (the part that’s on the back of the screen when you open it).
- If your computer works (i.e. can power on, can navigate, etc) you can follow these steps to find out what kind of Dell laptop it is:
- Click the Start button
- Type ‘System Information’ in the search box.
- In the list of search results, under Programs, click System Information to open the System Information window.
- Look for ‘Model:’ in the System section.
- If you cannot follow these steps or find the model information in ‘system information’, look to the “bottom” of the laptop (the underside of where the keyboard is) and find relevant information there (on a sticker, etched, etc). Additional research might be required if you’re still unsure.
This model of laptop also includes these slots, chassis, and ports to aid identification:
- HDMI 1.4(1)
