The HP Pavilion 15-e043cl is an HP Pavilion 15 series laptop. This series of laptops range in price from about $400 to $900 and launched in 1995. This particular model was discontinued in June of 2014 but the Pavilion 15 series still sees regular iterations and new models. This particular model, similarly to many of the Pavilion 15 laptops, features a 15.6" display, which is a good size for a portable laptop.

Many of the Pavilion 15 series laptops look very similar and have similar dimensions, you can follow the next section to identify your specific model.

This laptop was sold with the option of three different clam shell colors, black, blue, and silver. It also weighs 5.14 pounds and has a diagonal screen size of 15.6 inches. If all of these descriptors match your laptop you can move onto the following steps to confirm your model.

The dimensions according to the manufacturer are as follows:

1.07 in (minimum height) / 1.26 in (maximum height) x 15.0 in (width) x 9.7 in (depth).

If all of the dimensions are the same you likely have the right model but just to be sure you should use the following method as well.

To find the model number we will need to remove the battery from the laptop and check for a code that is in the compartment where the battery goes. Use the following steps to find it.

• Remove the battery from the bottom of the laptop
  • Push the battery slide and pull the battery off of the laptop
• Look for the identification information on the laptop where you just removed the battery from
  • In the bottom right hand corner there is a box containing identification information for your laptop
  • Locate this box and make sure the text following "Model: " is "15-e043cl"

If the model matches, then you have successfully identified your laptop as an HP Pavilion 15-e043cl.
