Identification and Background

The partnership between Nokia and Microsoft originated in February of 2011. The company CEOs agreed and announced that Windows would become the main operating system that Nokia smartphones sported. The Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 were the first Nokia Windows phones, announced in October of 2011. The following year, in 2012, Nokia announced the Lumia 900. Since these first devices, Nokia has manufactured numerous smartphones that house the Windows operating system. Microsoft, however, has moved away from supporting Windows 10 Mobile, and the Windows smartphone operating system was officially discontinued on January 14th of 2020.

Nokia Windows phones are thin rectangular smartphones. They come in a variety of colors. Identifying your Nokia phone is as simple as removing the back cover and reading the label underneath the battery.
