The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Headset line was released in the fall of 2018 and was created to keep up with the ever-changing technical environment of gaming. In the gaming world, the graphics and visuals continued to elevate while the audio remained constant. In combating this issue, SteelSeries created a Pro line of headset devices to match the graphic and visual elements of gaming while also giving the user a better audio experience. The SteelSeries CEO Ehtisham Rabbani said that “Until now, innovation in gaming graphics and displays have outpaced progress in gaming audio solutions,” and “The Arctis Pro is designed for gamers who seek high fidelity audio and who want to hear everything the sound engineers created, the same way they seek high-res, immersive visuals.”

The SteelSeries Arctis Pro and other versions are designed to enhance the gamer's experience and immerse them in any game. Some perks of this device include a self-adjusting ski google headband, a clear cast retractable microphone, and studio-quality audio. The look of the device is quite similar to the nonpro series in the shape of the ear, the cord, battery life, and many other specs such as color so that consumers have a choice in whether or not they want to buy the device or continue using their current one. Brian Fallon the Product Category Manager for Headsets at SteelSeries wrote that “Every choice in components and features was made to achieve the best sound in gaming, and with high fidelity audio, gamers will be able to experience every sound created by game publishers in its purest form.”

Currently, there are three different versions of the Arctis Pro. The one on this page is the least expensive in the regular wired headset at $179.99. The next level up is another wired headset but with a GameDAC instead of a USB ChatMix Dial at $249.99. The final level is a fully wireless version of the Arctic Pro at $349.99. Depending on how long the gamer chooses to keep the device, or how long they game during the day and overall usage will depend on the device and the gamer themselves to further allow options for the gamer.

The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wired Gaming Headset. On the left ear cup, there are many different features. A retractable microphone in the front. On the back are a volume scroll wheel, a large mute button, an aux port, and a micro USB port. On each of the ear cups are removable plates that hide the bulk of the LED lights. The LED lights create an outline on the outside of each cup. The band of the headset has a cloth elastic band that can be adjusted using velcro straps. The main difference between this and the other SteelSeries Arctis Pro headsets is that these are strictly wired while the others are wireless.
