Background and Identification
The iHome iP1 was released in July 2009, as the first iHome speaker system meant to be a complete home audio set. This iHome speaker system is equipped with two 4” honeycomb woofers and two 1” dome tweeters on the top corners of the faceplate. It also has a 30-pin iPhone/iPod connector and uses Bongiovi Acoustics Digital Power Station speaker technology, which allows the iHome iP1 to improve its audio quality without needing larger speakers.
The entire device is black with a transparent black-tinted faceplate. The iHome logo is located on the lower left-hand corner of the faceplate, and the Bongiovi DPS Acoustics logo is located on the lower right-hand corner of the faceplate. The iPhone/iPod dock is on the center of the faceplate and has four small command buttons. Directly above the dock, there is a small black bumper knob on which the docked iPhone/iPod can rest. An aux-in jack and component and composite output ports are also located on the back of the iHome iP1.
The iHome iP1 has had no major recalls and has received favorable reviews.
