Hoothoot hat sein Debüt im regulären Anime in der Episode Pokémon Illusion!. Im Verlauf des Anime spielt es als Falks Hoothoot eine besondere Rolle.

Falks Hoothoot
Falk lässt Hoothoot, wie Ash sein Pikachu, oft auf seiner Schulter sitzen. Hoothoot wird von Falk als erstes Pokémon im Kampf gegen Ash eingesetzt. Es besiegt Endivie mit Leichtigkeit, verliert aber gegen sein Pikachu.
