Sambia
Die Republik Sambia [] (englisch Republic of Zambia []) ist ein Binnenstaat im südlichen Afrika. Er grenzt an Angola, die Demokratische Republik Kongo, Tansania, Malawi, Mosambik, Simbabwe, Botswana und Namibia. Der Name leitet sich vom Fluss Sambesi ab. Sambia war vormals Nordrhodesien und wurde am 24. Oktober 1964 von der britischen Kolonialmacht Vereinigtes Königreich unabhängig, blieb aber Mitglied im britisch geführten Commonwealth of Nations, die Amtssprache blieb Englisch.
