APS Tech 101629 Repair

The product is similar to many other external optical drives. Unlike some newer drives, this device is a bit larger and measures 7 1/4" wide by 2 1/2" tall and 10" deep (18cm x 6.5cm x 25.5cm). The outside of the device is a matte beige, with darker grey highlights. On the underside of the device are four rubber feet concealing screws.

On the back of the device there are two SCSI ports on the left side. On the right, there is an on/off switch and a channel selector on the top. Below this are composite audio ports (l/r) and an s-video port. In the center of the back, there is an opening for the fan exhaust.

This product is model number 101629. It can be found on the bar code sticker at the back of the bottom of the device. It can also be found when the device is opened on the internal drive component.
